Break Down in Communication

One main issue in the workplace is communication

One of the main things I continue to see and hear about from employees of different companies, big or small, is the lack of communication in the workplace. This goes for personal relationships as well.

We weren't taught how to communicate properly when challenges arise, so we either just keep quiet and don't say anything, or we feel like we are right and won't listen to anyone.

Maybe we stop things that were working because one person didn't think it was necessary. Employees feel like their thoughts and opinions, or ideas don't matter, so they don't speak up.

Managers and supervisors think they are superior to the other employees so they do things without input from others and don't tell others, whether it's just organizing small things in a completely different area without letting others know or creating rules they know nothing about for the employees they are supposed to be guiding. Positions that they don't have any experience in at all, but they are the supervisor or manager over that department, because they have credentials that make them "look good on paper", but don't actually have real life experience with.

I have worked in many roles and have listened to co-workers, vent about frustrations and challenges that could be improved with no action being taken, even if management is told about it. With every job and every personal interaction, I built the mindset and skills to look at a situation and say, "what can be improved here?"

My daughter and I went to a temp job assignment today and were dreading it, got there and I was like, okay we can do this. We got there asked someone who the person we were supposed to meet with to be told where to go and they said, just wait by the office. We waited, and waited, and waited for at least 20 minutes and decided if it was going to be this way the whole day, we aren't doing it. So we left and told the temp agency, we weren't able to do it. Didn't hear anything back from the temp agency. Wasn't really sure if the person knew we were coming or what. But with so many temp agencies we have worked with communication is lacking with the agencies as well as the companies themselves.

I feel temp agency could really be a great place for people to find the best fit for them, if the agency really listened to what the client was really looking for and even if they were on a temporary assignment, if something came up that was what the client was looking for they were notified about it right away.

If you feel communication is a great starting point for your business and/or personal situation. Let's chat and see how I can help you improve the communication for your situation
